Winter Themed Preschool Activities

I do get a small commission for the links clicked on in this post at no extra charge to you. My family thanks you for your continued support.

Here are our Winter Themed Preschool activities for this month.

Scissor Practice– Did you know that scissor work can improve fine motor coordination, increase focus and attention and hand-eye coordination. Winter themed scissor practice is an excellent time to not only work on these skills but, talk to your young one about winter and the different activities that happen during this season.

Check out our Winter-themed scissor work activity below!

We used these loop scissors located in the link below for a long time! They automatically open back up, so helps with muscle memory of cutting. Great for children who struggle with fine motor skills, following directions or even the sensory aspect of putting your fingers physically through the holes of the scissors like my children do.

Tracing– Vincent has struggled with understanding that words need to fit together, they cannot be written on top of one another and they cannot start on one line and then continue onto the next. Because of this we began tracing activities! We found that the typical dotted line tracing was too literal for him and he began making dashed lines for his letters. So we created this tracing sheet for him! It has really helped him thus far.

Here is a copy of what we use located on my etsy store-Supporting Autism Mama.

We have also found that these pencils are Vincent’s favorites! The only real difference than a normal pencil is the thickness of the pencil. They are a little thicker. These ones are on sale right now for $2.97!
