The Valentine Shop

Are you looking for a February themed pretend play center? We decided to turn our pretend play restaurant into a Valentine shop in honor of Valentine’s Day! Our shop has everything that one would want to put together for their valentine; cards, gift bags, chocolate and flower bouquets!

Here are all the supplies that we gathered for our shop. All of these items were found at our local dollar store. Note that prices have officially raised to $1.25. Boo! Still cheaper than wal-mart however, so for the moment we will continue to find our homeschool items there!

Our shop has everything you would need for your valentine; flower bouquets, chocolate, valentine cards and gift bags!

Our shoppers get to pick their own “chocolate.” I found (and ate) the small chocolate containers at dollar tree, cleaned them out and now we can use them for our own chocolate selection at our store. Get creative with this part. Can you find brown playdough?? This would be perfect for the pretend play chocolate.

I found these fake flowers at the dollar tree and added some tissue paper that I had at home to them to give them a nicer, valentine look. Cheap and easy!

Here is the checkout for our Valentine Shop! Guests can purchase things from our store here. Have the children take turns being the shopper and the person who works the register. This is a great way to work on pretend play and also math skills!
